Benson Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar
Round 1: Heavy low kick by Henderson early as the two circle. Another one. Edgar's left calf is already reddened. Edgar scores with a straight right hand. Another leg kicks. Edgar with a quick takedown. Henderson going after the calf again. It's clear that's the focus of his early attack. Henderson with a knee to the body. Edgar catches it but still took the impact. Henderson with another low kick. Edgar takes him down but falls right into a Henderson guillotine. It's Henderson's round 10-9. Round 2: More of the same from the champ with a low kick that briefly takes Edgar off his feet. Edgar catches his next kick and lands a punch and kick afterward. Henderson is moving back and forth between stances. In an exchange, Edgar floored Henderson with a right hand. Plenty of time to work with 2:30 to go. Edgar looking for a choke but Henderson escapes. Edgar holds the front headlock and lands a couple of knees. Another knee from Edgar and Henderson works free with :45 left. Edgar's nose is somehow bleeding despite the fact that he was the one doling out the punishment. Henderson shoots and Edgar stuffs him. Edgar lands an uppercut as Henderson backs out. Edgar's round 10-9. No quick finish for this fight.

Round 4:
Edgar with a takedown. Henderson hits him with a head kick from the bottom while Edgar was standing over him. It wasn't too powerful though. They scramble and Edgar has a guillotine against the fence. Henderson is out with 2:40 left. A solid jab by Henderson causes Edgar to lose his mouthpiece. Ref Herb Dean quickly calls timeout for him to retrieve it. A hard right hand by Henderson lands, and Edgar answers. Henderson starts showboating, inviting Edgar in and Edgar lands a right hand. That seems to anger the former champ, who stared Henderson down after the round-ending horn. Another fairly close round, but MMA Fighting scores it for Edgar, 10-9. Round 5: Edgar with a straight right to start the final round. Edgar seems to have his rhythm and confidence. He pushes Henderson on to his back when the champ was off-balance. When Henderson gets up, Egar with another right cross. Edgar may be on the way to regaining the gold. Henderson with a straight left hand. The two briefly clinch and Edgar lands on the break. Edgar with an inside leg kick. Less than one minute left now. Hard left hand by the champion. Edgar answers with a combination. Edgar slips on a head kick and Henderson tags him with a kick of his own. It's not enough. It's an Edgar round, and he may have recaptured the belt.

Winner: Ben Henderson via split decision (48-47, 48-47, 46-49). So Frankie has 143 points and Benson 142 points but Frankie loses?
I agree with the boos. We just have to agree to disagree, F34R. I thought Frankie clearly had the edge in 2, 3 and 5 and a slim margin in the 4th.

I thought Frankie won the fight, but it was still very close. This fight was definitely closer than the first one between them.
And Nate Diaz gets the next shot....him and Henderson should be a good one!

WTF........How can you win by one point BUT loose the fight? Time to find judges who know what they are doing.
