I have hated that painting from the very first moment I saw it.

It looks like the guys house across the street. He is a major Type A personalitly......retired state trooper........has his Christmas lights up the day after Thanksgiving. Every inch of his house and yard is decorated. Then the lights are promtly removed New Year's Day. You can set your watch by him. Happily for me, he is also an all around nice guy who does stuff for me around my not-nearly-as neat property.

My house looked like the "ditto" house. I barely got one little pathetic tree decorated this year.

Then he'd be WAY out of sync. Christmas Decorations arise Exactly Forty Days before Christmas, and sink exactly 12 days after.

(I cant remember if you include christmas in one, the other, both, or niether without checking my liturgical callendar.)

Dave, we don't celebrate Christmas based on your church's calendar. The Christmas season begins as soon as Santa closes out the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade & ends approx. 30sec before the clock strikes midnight on New Year's.

You couldn't make us drink your tea or pay your taxes, you're certainly not gonna be able to make us put up our lights whenever you say!
