Default UFC on FUEL in Tweets: Fighters React to Jake Ellenberger vs. Diego Sanchez

From MMAFighting.com

Quote:
Feb 15, 2012 - In the weeks leading up to their pivotal welterweight scrap, Diego Sanchez and Jake Ellenberger promised a dogfight that would rival the early candidates for ‘Fight of the Year.' On Wednesday night, they delivered on that promise.

Sanchez and Elllenberger unleashed a wild three-round affair at the main event of UFC on FUEL, delighting the Omaha crowd with a number of furious exchanges and a late swing in momentum that almost saw "The Dream" steal the show. In the end, Ellenberger may have emerged the victor, pocketing a unanimous decision (29-28, x3) to the glee of his hometown crowd, but the result was not without its critics.

As Bruce Buffer tallied the judges' scorecards, a flood of professional fighters took to Twitter, sounding off on everything from the lack of five rounds to cries for a draw. Surprisingly, even the usually Twitter-averse Nick Diaz let his opinion be known, and needless to say, it was everything you'd expect.

Any links to a video of the fight? FUEL is not available through my cable package so I didn't get to see it.

It was a good fight, Ellenberger definitely won rounds 1 and 2. Diego started to come on strong in round 3 and had his back. He should have tried for the RNC, but instead he kept trying to pound him out.

Unfortunately it was only a 3 round fight.

Mike and VCU it was an awesome fight!!! First round It was super close but I had Diego winning the round untill the last seconds... Diego was coming forward and Jake threw a punch that with Diego's momentum kind of put him off balance and Diego fell but immediately stood back up.

The Second Round Jake was getting the best of Diego in the exchanges and Diego looked pretty frustrated but always kept his composure. Diego was the aggressor for most of the fight but Jake was countering very effectively. At the last minute of the round Jake gets a double and puts Diego on his back landing some vicious elbows but the bell rings.

Third Round Diego finds his range and they both start trading. Jake gets another takedown but Diego escapes and end up on top where he throws everything but the kitchen sink at Jake. Jake just enough for the ref not to stop the fight Diego attempts the RNC but Jake defends pretty good... the fight finishes with Diego making ground beef out of Jakes face.

(FOTN)

Not a very good analysis but thats more a less what I remember

This fight was great but once again the UFC manage to F' it Up by not making it a 5 round fight.

Jake looked good in the first 2 rounds but by the third he was pretty tiered. Just like in his fight with Carlos. Had the fight gone another round Im not sure he would have made it. But who knows anything can happen its MMA.

From what I saw I still dont see anything that makes me think they would stand a chance against The Reigning Defending Bad @$$ Mother Trucker Welterweight Champion Of The World who is GSP

I don't get that. The UFC is just being really arbitrary with which non-title main events are 5 rnds & which are just 3. Dustin Poirier vs. the Korean Zombie in May is only 3, as well.

Jake E easily won rounds 1 and 2.. I hate how people hate on the kid. He is a nice and humble guy who doesn't need to talk *hit for attention... Diego won round 3.. There should be no BS yapping about it being a draw..
