guess you can say that about how many belts though? What if GSP retired, unbeaten.. the next champ wouldn't mean much as he never beat GSP...?

Well, wouldn't mean quite AS much, until he proved himself a worthy successor with his own legacy, with several wins over top level fighters. It would certainly lend itself to arguments, at least...'what if' scenarios and all that.

Why you crowd of GSP haters you There are some people in here who flame me for saying I dont like the guy and think he should do less speak, and more fight...Never once have I said that he should be stripped (not that I didnt think it, but I never said it) and here you all are saying he doesnt deserve the belt coz he cant defend due to injury.

Absurd. Not able to defend is the reason for the interim belt. If GSP is unable to return in a reasonable amount of time, THEN the interim champ becomes the undisputed champ. Until then, we have an injured champ and an interim champ.

you could be right .. but no one would recognize the interim champ imo ... even if the champ was stipped ... i mean stripped ..

look at nog, if i remember correct, he won the interim title when randy "retired" yet randy came back from over a year still as the champ .. i think even at one point shane carwin was the interim champ and people don't consider him the champ ... so they could strip gsp, but when he comes back and beats condit or diaz or whoever, people will know he didn't even lose it in the first place
