UFC 143 Fighter Salaries: Nick Diaz Rakes in $200,000

Feb 6, 2012 - Nick Diaz earned a reported salary of $200,000 for his fight against Carlos Condit at UFC 143 this past Saturday in Las Vegas, according to the Nevada athletic commission. Condit, who defeated Diaz for the UFC interim welterweight title, on paper made $55,000 as his show purse and a $55,000 bonus for the win.

Please note that salaries reported by the UFC to the commission do not necessarily reflect a fighter's actual earnings, once other possible bonuses (such as a cut of the pay-per-view for big stars) and sponsorship money is factored in.

Salaries for the rest of the fighters are below. Additionally, Werdum, Nelson, Thompson and Poirier each earned a $65,000 bonus at the post-fight press conference.

I am sure Roy get a lot more under the table money. They guy does all osrts of stuff for the UFC and he has a strong fan base so I am sure he got some change for his time not listed.

Roy is probably still under is contract for winning TUF, which was probably a five fight deal.

Fighters are WAY underpaid, and I've said that for years.

Sure, Roy got 20k "on paper", but I spent 8 hours in the ER last month on one visit where all they did was stick me in a giant machine for 7 minutes and then told me I need to see a "specialist". All of that supposedly added up to about $10,000 worth of treatment.

How much do you think the medical bills for Roy's face are?

I know UFC is doing more to take care of it's fighters lately, but we can't act like we are inept to the fact that improvements can be made.
