With his recent retirement, I wanted to make a thread for Mr. Jorge Rivera. I had the opportunity to meet Jorge back at UFN 18, which also took place in Nashville. He was awesome to meet and won a decision on the card. I think fighters like Jorge are overlooked a lot of the times. Never quite a title contender, Jorge still had a shot at beating anyone that was placed in front of him. Unlike some guys like Kenny Florian, Chael Sonnen, and others who don't want to continue if they can't be title contenders or champions (which I understand) Jorge really seemd to enjoy just fighting and made any prelims or midcard that much better. He overcame a lot with the loss of his daughter and rebounded and really put up some good fights recently. My favorite Jorge Rivera moment was his matchup against Kendall Grove. A shorter, older guy that was being fed to this young, tall, strong, up and comer. Jorge KO'd him in round 1. Mr Jorge Rivera, good luck in your future and I personally will miss seeing you fight!
