Oh, I always think of Forrest when I hear 'I'm Shipping off to Boston'
I thought it was a Hawaiian song!?! Maybe that's Kendall Grove I'm thinking of...

Hard to believe that video will be 6 years old next month.

It is. "Iz" is short for Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and "E Ala E" means "Awake" in the Hawaiian language.

Yep, that was back in February 2006, during my first trip to the Rancho3M Orphanage. Matt and I had been talking over emails for a few weeks before that, but we met in person for the first time on that trip (this video was recorded about 3-4 days in).

Oh, thanks, PTM. "E Ala E" by IZ sounded like some hiphop thing.

You might have heard him do this one. If not, enjoy for the first time.

Unfortunately, he died about 15 years ago of complications from morbid obesity.

This is sort of related to MMA though...I think about atomdanger when I hear FFDP's version of Bad Company because he posted about it here.

Amazing cover, almost better than the original.
