this fight would have gone the same way as gsp vs hardy .. diaz has a hard time against wrestlers .. sure his bjj is better than hardy's non-existant bjj, but i don't think he'd threaten with subs or sweeps with gsp .. gsp has taken the best wrestlers down ... gsp has taken a decent chin .. he took good shots from bj in their first fight and thiago .. honestly, all but the serra fight has gsp ever been wobbled? diaz has nothing for gsp ..

Never sure where this school of thought comes from. He has fought every contender in his division including Alves who is a far more dangerous striker than Diaz. He has been in trouble once due to massive haymaker that would have dropped most fighters other than that he has never even been rocked. So have no idea where this reputation of being chinny has come from.

Diaz would demolish Alves.. However I agree he definitely does not have a glass chin..

Aw crap...this sucks more than the version of Anderson Silva running around in Chael's head. I understand the need for an interim champ...I don't think it'll matter who it is once GSP is back though. Maybe now he'll realize his time is limited & he should make a play for 185 sooner than later? Probably not, but there's always hope!

Looking at the bigger picture i doubt gsp will come back the same after this injury... Acl injurys are a big deal in less physically demanding sports and gsps game while technical is based alot on explosivness

I actually agree that Diaz takes Alves (this from his number one hater) was more to point out he had fought heavy strikers with one shot KO power and not been knocked out.
