I think he is just big, and good at staying in control.
He did get caught using in the US, and then did well in Japan.
Maybe he was using in Japan? Who knows...

um because barnet was fat....... how well he fights depends directly his moob size
he was fat and tired and dint want to use the energy and risk loseing the arm bar and the whole thing with him haveing a shot at fedor that is if HE comes in shape

Yeah actually let me catch you up to speed on what actually happened that night: Barnett only fought one other time that night. He fought Nog and Mirko fought Wandy. That's how the tourney worked in Pride. The semifinals and the finals occurred on the same night. Mirko's fight went 5 and a half minutes.
The other two times they fought...
1st. Josh suffered a shoulder injury
2nd. Josh lost a decision so not sure where the "unfair"ness happened.

Despite what shape Josh is in Fedor is dangerous in the guard.
