Default UFC 135 ***SPOILERS***

Romero vs. Te Huna: I picked Ricardo because of his ground pedigree, but I clearly should have considered James' punching power. Romero was diving for long-bomb takedowns that Te Huna saw from a mile out & he put Romero to sleep with some nasty right hands.

Ben, I'm really sorry you didn't get to go see the fights live but selfishly I'm glad I won't be the only one on here tonight.

Mizugaki (my pick) vs. Escavedo

At range, Takeya is doing better, but Cole is landing some nice knees in Te clinch. Miz gets a takedown, but Cole gets back up, then jumps guard. Miz stays standing & Escavedo climbs a leg up for a triangle, but Tak stad tall & shakes him down, freeing his arm. Most of the round is spent in the clinch with Cole landing some mean elbows. I give Rnd 1 to Cole.

Rnd 2 is mostly standing with Miz showing really crisp boxing, especially enjoying the left hook to the body. About 90sec left & Cole is tired of getting popped, so he reaches for a clinch, but Tak opens up with a flurry of nasty dirty boxing, dropping Cole & eventually knocking him out.

I'm 1-1 now.

Yeah, but it smells a little weird.

Time for Yagon/Assuncao (I picked Junior).

Jr. has a very upright stance. I'm pretty pressed by Eddie's defensive BJJ. Very deliberate pace from Assuncao & Yagin didn't try to pressure until late. He gave up 2 TDs & Jr. Landed some nice GnP, so I give it to him.

Eddie is more aggressive at the outset of rnd 2, but he can't make significant contact. Junior got a takedown & briefly takes the back. On their feet again & Yagin still can't find his range. Another takedown with a guillotine attempt feo
Eddie, but Jr slips out. Round ends on their feet, another for Assuncao.

Rnd 3 starts & Eddie stuffs a takedown, turns it into a takedown of his own, but Jr uses a butterfly hook to make space & get up. Clinch againstthe cage & Eddie jumps guard to try for a guillotine, but Assuncao slips out, passes to side control & unloads solid GnP for the remainder of the round. Should be 30-27 for Junior Assuncao.

Judges agree, kinda. Two judges give it to h 30-26

I'm 2-1.

Ok, I missed the opening half of rnd 1, but Nick (my pick) seemed to be in control? Rnd 2 looked to me like Tim took it. Seems like Boetsch Ishtar the bigger fighter & Nick is gassing trying to fight that extra weight.
Rnd 3 & Nick looks to be fading.

Wow, that was a GORGEOUS takedown right into the mounted crucifix! Man, I am in LOVE with that throw! Great win for Tim.

I'm now 2-2.

That was an amazing throw by Boetsch...the prelims on facebook were good except for rounds 1 and 2 of the yagin/junior fight, they spent more time staring at each other than actually fighting
