Kos has proven himself a pretty good striker.

I think Matt needs to get him to the ground and keep him there.

If Koscheck, who has had two title shots, doesn't deserve a shot against Matt then how did Diego deserve one?

If Kos is medically cleared, I think it would be a good fight.

I bet Koschoke will want to try and prove he's the better wrestler. He's a macho dude so he might also do what he did in the first GSP fight and swing for the fences to try and catch Matt (or get into Matt's head coming off a KO)

I imagine what the UFC ( Joe Silva and Dana) do is contact numerous fighters to see who is available and then pick the best fight in their opinion. Then they contact Matt and say here's what we're thinking and Matt says "sounds good".
There could be 4-5 WWs who said yes only Koschoke was the only one to go blabbing on Twitter.

Whatever Matt decides it will be the best decision.

They may be keeping Fitch on hold in case Condit or BJ have to pull out of that fight in Oct.

If this matchup goes through I think this is a tougher fight for Matt. I think Kos has more to offer than Diego does.
I am curious to see if Kos has to cut a bit of weight to make 170, how his body will react to fighting at altitude. He might be sucking wind at the 1 minute mark of the first round.

I agree this is a very dangerous fight!
Regardless I give Matt the Edge on pure Experience which leads me to believe he wont try and bang with Kos. With that said it would be awesome if Matt KO's Koscheck!!!! That would be two great Knock outs in the same Month!!! After Floyd KTFO Ortiz!!!

matt takes this no problem ... matt can stand with kos or take him to the ground ... matt UD or 3rd round GnP stoppage ... than we get to hear kos' excuse, short notice blah blah ......

I agree with you, although Koscheck has only had one title shot...it wasn't for the belt the first fight against GSP.

People are bitter about the team AKA claim of calling out Matt and saying he refused. Rightfully so, it was a douchebag thing to do, but this will be a tough match for Matt if it happens. Koscheck can take a beating (Alves, GSP) and can dish it out too (Trigg, Yoshida, Hazelett). Could be a split decision for either, IMO.
