I love Marquez, the guy is a true Mexican warrior, but at 144 and Pac's dynamically improved offense, he's going to get smoked by Pac.

At least, Marquez deserves another big payday ($5 million U.S. for this fight) before he retires. FYI, what isn't mentioned here is if he loses his next fight (opponent currently unnamed) in July, the fight is off. GO MARQUEZ!!!

MANILA, Philippines - Pound-for-pound king and fighting Congressman Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has confirmed that he will battle Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12.

It will be the third meeting between the two fighters.

Their two previous bouts were controversial.

In 2004, Pacquiao settled for a draw in their first fight despite knocking Marquez down in the first round.

Four years later, their second meeting ended in a split decision in favor of Pacquiao.

The third fight will be at a 145-pound catchweight.

Pacquiao said he will start training in September.

“Tuloy na po yun, abangan n’yo,” [You come and watch me] said the 8-division world champion.

Marquez signed the contract for the fight last May 19.

Pacquiao confirmed the news during a victory party that Governor Luis 'Chavit' Singson gave in his honor on Sunday night.

The Corinthian Gardens Clubhouse was filled with politicians, celebrities and other various VIPs, who all came to celebrate Pacquiao’s victory over Shane Mosley.

“Tradisyon na natin ito, laging may victory party with Gov. Singson,” [It is tradition, there will always be a party with Gov. Singson] Pacquiao said.

Among those present were Vice-President Jejomar Binay and former President Joseph Estrada.

“He’s the best fighter that the Philippines has ever produced and the whole country is very proud of him,” said Estrada.

I also think Marquez is a little over his head at this weight. But regardless I will be chanting for him and His third victory over Pacquiao

I refuse to purchase this fight I would much rather buy PPV's for my lovies in the UFC.. Boxing is not exciting to me anymore.

Marquez is getting the star treatment in the Philippines. The mayor of Manila gave him the key to the city. Good to hear that he has that much respect from the Filipinos.

MANILA, Philippines -- Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez paid a visit to Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim Thursday afternoon as part of his press tour in the Philippines.

Lim awarded Marquez a key to the city.

Marquez said he has been training in Mexico and will continue his training while in the Philippines because Pacquiao is "a good fighter."

Marquez said part of his regimen is drinking his urine. "My urine is medicine because it has a lot of vitamins."

"I don't know how to speak Filipino...but mahal ko kayo," he said.

Maybe he is going to start bottling it soon!
