Default Planting Season

The ground is finally dry enough to start planting, so Mark spent this morning planting corn in one of Matt's fields. I took a few photos and I'll try to get some more while Mark's in the field and post them here over the next few weeks.

Nick (Matt and Mark's nephew) cultivates the ground:

Mark does the planting:

I don't know if it has a technical name, but they just call it a planter. Those yellow containers with the black lids are what holds the seeds and he's planting corn.

Well, to be fair, my better half sometimes runs a LeTourneau or a shovel. I'm kind of interested in heavy equipment.

I wish I had stopped today during my ride through the country in good 'ol SC. I passed a good many fields that were planted with wheat and corn. Riding the Harley through the country is such a great experience, and seeing things like the fields makes me feel so good about where I live.

I'm riding tomorrow, so maybe I can snap a few photos..
