Was Jake Shields intentionally trying to poke Georges St. Pierre in the eyes?

Im Not sure if it was intentional but GSP's eye was hurt because of that eye poke and not a punch as Jake stated.

Maybe Diaz is teaching him some good sportsmenship type moves lol. It did look like he was trying to claw out his eye though.

i have watched this fight again and i think that in the back of jakes mind, he was thinking that the only way to slow gsp down was to try and blind him .. in the first two rounds, gsp was winning the battle with ease and keeping jake at bay ... after jake landed the eyepoke, he realized that gsp's striking was less effective ... in the 3rd, 4th and 5th, gsp clearly was not the same .. whatever though .. gsp clearly won ..
