Default Gina Carano's Opponent Pulls Out of Fight Due to . . . Pregnancy

From MMAFighting.com:

Quote:
Following Saturday night's Strikeforce event, CEO Scott Coker told MMA Fighting that female fighter Cindy Dandois was forced to pull out of a June 18 fight against Gina Carano because she was three and a half months pregnant.

"Cindy actually wanted to take the fight," Coker said, "and ended up being three and a half months pregnant. So she will not be fighting on June 18."

Dandois confirmed the news Tuesday on her Facebook fan page:

"I am so sad I cant take the fight against Gina. It was and still is one of my biggest goals. But on the other hand, it is a blessing from God to get a child an [sic] become a mother again. A child is forever and you must care about a life that is given by the hand of God. I hope I can do the fight after my pregnancy."

Dandois didn't confirm if she was in fact three and a half months pregnant.

This is an important fact because Dandois (5-1) most recently fought on March 19, defeating Jorina Baars via second-round TKO (footage below). If she is that far along in her pregnancy, that means she competed in a fight, which took place in Belgium, while she was at least two months pregnant.

Thus far, MMA Fighting has been unsuccessful in reaching Dandois for comment.

According to Coker, Strikeforce is "in the process of locking down the other opponent [for Carano] right now," and the organization hopes to have the situation finalized in the coming weeks.

Carano (7-1) hasn't competed in MMA since losing to Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos for the vacant Strikeforce 145-pound title in August 2009.

The June 18 Strikeforce event will take place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. The card features the conclusion of the quarterfinal round of the Heavyweight Grand Prix, with Alistair Overeem taking on Fabricio Werdum and Brett Rogers vs. Josh Barnett. Also announced was Daniel Cormier vs. Shane del Rosario and Valentijn Overeem vs. Chad Griggs.

Below is footage of Dandois' fight against Baars.

Might be hard to make weight with a baby in the belly.

I know Ronda Rousey seems to have Carano and or Cyborg as one of her goals! Problem is Rhonda just has 1 PRO MMA fight! Which She won by arm bar in less than a minute into round one!
