Default Former MMA fighter shot dead at the Mexican border

From MMAMania.com:

Quote:
Former mixed martial arts competitor Sergio Salcido Luna, along with friend and co-worker Kevin Joel Romero, was shot and killed Monday morning while waiting to cross the California/Mexico border.

Salcido (4-5) hadn't competed since a submission loss to former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) contestant Sako Chivitchyan at Long Beach Fight Night 6 back in October 2009.

The pair worked for West Coast Beverage Maintenance in San Diego and were slain in a company vehicle while commuting to work. Investigators have not determined a motive but remarked that the 9mm shell casings found at the scene are favored by drug cartel gunmen in Mexico.
Here's more on yesterday's tragedy courtesy of NBC San Diego.

It's also one of the most common rounds (if not THE most common) used...

They do not use generic rounds, Most cartels case their own ammo and no doubt they were referring to some sort of signature. Man you need to watch more CSI
