Like any Church Leader there is preaching, and teaching, and a pastoral ministry which typically only comes with the Episcopal Structure

Whilst I can vouch for the Structure...I cant tell you from any first hand experience of Roman Catholic preaching and teaching, as im not a member of that denomination

I was surprised to hear a priest talk about salvation at my uncle's funeral just two weeks ago. He said that we knew that Uncle Joe was in heaven because Joe knew and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and that the only way into heaven was through God's son.......something like that. I think I was too stunned to actually comprehend what he was saying.

of course, right after that little speech he said the Hail Mary and prayed for souls in purgatory...........

it was a very odd experience for my girls. They were freaked........

It wasn’t the priest per se…….it was the statues and the crucifixes. And the formal attired, and the way the priest spoke…….the chanting ……..they just aren’t used to that. And the mention of purgatory……….they were very confused…….

We go to a Baptist church and things are very, very different during the service.
