you can't really say fitch beat the crap out of bj AND say fitch smothers.... fitch smothered and bj was never really in trouble.... fitch was in trouble in both first rounds

Whatever. Fitch was only in trouble when BJ had the Rnc. The third round was definitely 10-8 for Fitch. Fitch gave him some great ground and Pound enough for a 10-8 BJ was just surviving. Zero offense whatsoever in that third round.

BJ did well with the takedowns ... i gave him the first and fitch the last two and a 10-8 very close ... fitch coulda ended that in the third .... i am good with the draw as the second was close , but another reason why dana is looking to have main events 5 rounds ... i think lucky for BJ it was only three, as he was done ...

2 takedowns and probably 100 strikes landed by Fitch while BJ did nothing. BJ was owned huge in that round.

I'd like to see the compustrike. there were some good elbows and punches but BJ was avoiding more strikes then I think you are crediting.

Even Fitch and his corner agreed that the first 1 and 3/4 rounds he was losing definitely. In my book 1 and 3/4 out of 3 is a losing effort. In Pride maybe they would have judged it in Fitch's favor based on how the fight ended. Matt made a good observation that going into round 3 Cook and Camarillo were saying he had to do something big to win. I read that to mean. he had to finish the fight to have a chance at winning.

I think a draw might be the best outcome for the ww division... I mean who really wants to see either of these guys with Georges again???? Maybe its justified to give fitch one more shot but bj? No way!!!

It was a draw.

I feel for BJ because it is like the Rampage scenario - you get beat up in the last round and it clouds your view of the fight.

BJ won the first two rounds for me.

Fitch looked a lot bigger to me and just ground out the last - he was relentless. I was worried for BJ's cardio but Fitch just didnt stop.

They should not make a rematch - both need different fights to stake a claim

My how this forums view of BJ has changed...
