This will result in Obama giving thrilling, passionate speeches of friendship, love, and devotion and we'll tell him to **** off!

This will result in Obama disarming the military as "violence doesn't solve anything" to which we will invade the U.S.A., overthrow the government, reclaim it as the Newer New Republic of Texas. Those people who were in the Democratic Party will be put into medieval stocks for the remainder of their lives.

Nobody dares try to push Socialism in the New Republic of TX as it is considered treason.

Wouldn't that be nice?

EDIT: Point being, if some states leave the U.S., Obama wouldn't have the balls to send the military anyways. Besides, we have all the big bases here in TX. DON'T MESS WITH TX!!!!!!!!!!
As soon as Texas gets serious abou this, I am moving back and reclaiming my old driver's license number. God Bless Texas!

To me, he IS that bad. Where does the executive segment of our govt. get off making the arbitrary decision that as of today, the Defense of Marriage Act is unconstitutional and directs his Atty. Gen. not to defend any further cases?

That's dictating.

You see what I mean? He changed the law today. Not after review by the judiciary or revision of the law by the legislative, but by his dictate alone.

Ok, well, when people think of the term "dictator", they are thinking of these guys, but he's nothing to the same extreme:

rockdawg, you aren't reading what I'm typing. I didn't say he was out killing people. I said he was out dictating. Believe me, there are plenty of benevolent dictators, I think that's the only reason the ME isn't yet engaged in nuclear war.

Look here, from today's Wash. Post.

Quote:
The Obama administration announced Wednesday that it has pulled its legal support for the federal Defense of Marriage Act, stating that the law fails to meet constitutional scrutiny standards and therefore the administration is under no obligation to defend it.

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said in a statement released Wednesday that President Obama has decided that his administration “will cease defense of Section 3,” which states that marriage is between one man and one woman.

[T]he President has concluded that given a number of factors, including a documented history of discrimination, classifications based on sexual orientation should be subject to a more heightened standard of scrutiny,” Mr. Holder said. “The President has also concluded that Section 3 of DOMA, as applied to legally married same-sex couples, fails to meet that standard and is therefore unconstitutional. Given that conclusion, the President has instructed the Department not to defend the statute in such cases. I fully concur with the President’s determination.”
It is not his job to "conclude" what laws on the books are or are not constitutional.

It is not even just about Obama. It's the socialist that comes after him. Hopefully there will a conservative president next, but we all know everytime something goes wrong and there is a claim of unfairness people want to vote in someone who will make things fear, someone who will fix their problems. But as conservatives when, and how, do we fix our problem with the distruction of the US as it was built and as we desire it.

I know he's not like the people you have posted, rockdawg. I wasn't insinuating that.

Do you believe in the checks and balances of our government? Do you think it's important? I think it's creepy and frightening what he's doing. But I'm a generation ahead of you so you are the ones that will be left to live with the results.
