Default Hughes adds Credibility to Lesnar as TUF Coach.

and interesting artical...about how Matt Hughes helpping Lesnar adds to the lack of stuff Lesnar has when it comes to being a TUF coach.

Brock Lesnar's Team Trains With Matt Hughes for the Ultimate Fighter 13

Nine-time UFC welterweight champion and UFC hall of famer Matt Hughes was out and about prior to and after UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort.

Not only can fans catch video's of Hughes helping to prepare BJ Penn for his welterweight fight with Jon Fitch at BJPenn.com, but the Minnesotan worked with Brock Lesnar and his team for Ultimate Fighter: Team Lesnar vs Team Dos Santos.

Hughes had the following posted on his blog this past Valentine's day "...Thursday the 3rd, we [Hughes and his daughter] left for Las Vegas to do some stuff for the UFC. Friday I spent the morning with Brock Lesnar and his team at the TUF gym..."

Many people were questioning the legitimacy of Brock Lesnar's coaching credentials and whether he would be of any use to the contestants on The Ultimate Fighter, but getting guys like Matt Hughes in to work with the guys is definitely a step in the right direction.

Brock Lesnar already has Erick Paulson the lead trainer of Josh Barnett on board for the entirety of the show. It will be interesting to see what other guest coach appearances Brock Lesnar has planned for this season.

Matt Hughes is a man that brings in a wealth of knowledge and wisdom about winning, wrestling and enduring. The man has carved out a legacy for himself in the sport and any pieces of information the contestants on Team Lesnar can take away from Hughes will be great not only for their experience on the show, but for their careers as fighters as well.

Hughes acted as head coach on The Ultimate Fighter for Season 2 and Season 6. Out of the two seasons, Hughes had one of his team members make it to the final in Season 2, and in Season 6, the final was between two of his team members, ultimately leading to victory for Team Hughes.

Matt's past experience on the show will be great for Team Lesnar.

Despite the question marks surrounding Lesnar's coaching qualifications, it appears as though the big man is taking his coaching gig seriously. Lesnar is all about bringing in the right guys, and truth be told, Matt Hughes is one of the greats.

Much like Georges St. Pierre did in Season 12 of the reality series, people can expect Lesnar to leave most of the technical aspects of the training to his coaching staff.

Lesnar is probably going to act more or less as a mentor to his team members and use his experience in building his brand and performing under high pressure situations to help the fighters get through what will be one of the most challenging situations they will have to face in life.

From my research Erik Paulson should be pretty handy! Back when he was younger he fought alot in Japan and should be a reasonably well rounded fighter. Then to bring in Matt for a visit was really smart! That should help motivate the younger fighters plus Matt can give a few tips with the voice of experience and success!
