Thanks Melissa. I will do that. I have blue cross/blue shield of nj and i don't need a referal to see a specialist but the specialist wouldn't make the appointment until Jessie saw my family doc first. My family doc set up the appointment for the mri since he said the specialist would need it.
yeah the insurance rep called me. they have done that a few times actually. right before my stress test and then when corrie had a few infections. I'm just frustrated. She has missed three weeks of dance. No one is accepting new patients right now. I had to call three offices before I could find one that accepted new patients. Then they only offer limited appointments for new patients at odd times........it's all just frustrating. Meanwhile I am trying to hide the fact that I am really worried that she tore something. Her ankle is still swollen and purple.......... |

well................we got good news today..........and bad news.........sorta....
the good news is that Jessie has a Syndesomosis ligament injury or a "high ankle sprain." apparently a ligament that runs between the bones in her ankle was torn and she needs to wear a cast for the next 6 weeks. right now she doesn't need surgery but if the ligament doesn't heal within the next 2 months she might need it. and it means no dancing at all for at least 2 months. but it could be worse.......... |

Update:
Yeah! We are now in an aircast for part of the time! Woohoo! She still has swelling and she still needs to wear the boot for most of the day but she can start wearing just the aircast for a few hours each day. She will slowly wean herself from the boot with the help of physical therapy 2x a week with expercises to do at home. So she can start dancing again in about a month. On a side note..........I thought we were all going to fall over when she removed her "boot" cast in the exam room. She is a really clean girl but the smell of that boot was HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! |

NOW we have THIS cast................( the link below.......I don't know how to move it where I want it to go! )
This last one is so complicated to get on that it took the nurse about 20 minutes to figure it out! She has PT 3x a week ( Since the middle of Feb) Will need another week of it before she can get cleared but she should be able to start dancing next week!
