Three strikes, you're out.
Brandon Vera has been released from his Zuffa contract following his third straight loss inside the Octagon, a UFC 125: "Resolution" unanimous decision defeat to Brazilian wrecking ball Thiago Silva back on Jan. 1 in Las Vegas. Five Ounces of Pain brought word of the light heavyweight's expected release earlier today. http://www.mmamania.com/2011/1/6/191...o-thiago-silva This is a bit of a shock to me... logically it makes sense.. but he draws fans... Ironically.. I still remember him claiming to Joe Rogan that he would be the first to hold the LHW and the HW titles at the same time... And this was in Chuck's heyday!!!!

Doesn't surprise me at all. I've never been a fan of his.
I feel sorry for him though hes nose was messed up.

The only surprise for me was that he wasn't let go earlier. I was never a fan...his cocky attitude (with little to justify it) back in 2006 along with his stupid dance after winning matches just turned me off, I guess. I do feel a bit bad for the guy now...he just keeps getting beat down badly.

Yeah, can't say this was a surprise. Long overdue IMO.
