Shields up: Georges St. Pierre is going to have to deal with 'new strategies' on April 30 --
http://www.mmamania.com/2011/1/4/191...-deal-with-new I like Shields... but .. sorry.. no. Unless he pulls a Serra.. (which is always possible...).. No way he beats GSP.. just not the skill set. If the fight goes past 1 minute.. it will be GSP by Dec. I am calling it now. Andy Vs GSP?? What's the height difference? On the grou8nd.. I think GSP could do it.. standing???? Andy has laser sights on his wrists....

I really don't see why people think GSP should immediately take that fight with Anderson. I understand the desire for the fight...I just don't think it makes to have it pushed on him.
Anderson topped the P4P list for nearly 3 years, and even he only faced mediocre competition when he moved up to 205. And yeah, I'm sorry, I like Forrest, but IMO he had a career night against Rampage to win the belt, and is otherwise mediocre. Not to mention tailor-made for Anderson's skill set. If Anderson got a chance to test the waters, I say give GSP the same chance...fight a tough, potentially dangerous, but lower level opponent to begin with, then step it up a few notches to a high-level gate keeper. If all goes well, then at that point he's used to the extra weight & by all means go for it. Oh, Spiritwalker...Andy is at least 3 inches taller and walks around about 30 pounds heavier...he's a much bigger guy. And I know skill is more important, but the smaller the skill discrepancy (and in this case although I give GSP the overall edge, it's very small) the more important size becomes. |

Not to mention he choked out the current Light Heavyweight Champion.
The almighty Shogun Rua who almost got knocked out by Mark Coleman

I think GSP wins this but I really think that this will be the toughest fight he has had at 170
