Default To celebrate the enemy or not to celebrate the enemy?

Should all threads celebrating anyone other than Team Hughes/HIT Squad fighters be allowed?

it's kinda like naming a holiday after hitler for all the good he has done...... not counting killing thousands of innocents, of course.....

May I ask who is the enemy? Is this a sport or a war?

I get where you're coming from, but I don't see anything wrong with it as long as 2 conditions are met:
  1. There's no bashing of Matt or HIT Squad fighters (including gloating, mocking, "rubbing in" a loss, etc.)
  2. It's not of a fighter Matt is preparing to fight
Other than that, the forums are for free exchange & debate, IMO.
EDIT: That being said, I do not plan on celebrating either GSP or BJ.

I agree.
besides in the long run Matt gets the final say on all things having to do with this forum.

Exactly. So if it turns out he hates having others lauded on his site (which doesn't exactly sound like him), then I guess I'd have to change my vote!

It's funny how those two celebration threads are nothing but GSP and BJ haters just going back and forth. No real celebration at all.

I agree with Bonnie, this is all Dave's fault.

Depends on who "the enemy" is.

Celebrating Georges Saint Pierre, may not have been the best place to start...and celebrating BJ Penn within a week of having him beat Hughes is not very appropriate....but generally, these people are all Human, they all have intrinsic value...I dont see much of an issue in politely sharing information on them

Really...all I was doing was trying to share a nice GSP highlight reel...I kinda wish I'd just stuck in in the highlight thread...then noone would have cared I dont suppose.

The GSP one was slightly my fault...but I cant be responsible for how it turned out, nor that sequels of celebrating everyone else.
