Default Patrick Cote And Gabriel Gonzaga Get The Ax

Was just reading on "MMA Junkie" that Cote and Gonzaga have been cut.
I think we are going to see a lot more fighters get cut, now that the UFC and WEC have merged.

Gonzaga was scary with that high kick KO of Cro Cop. But that was his only real big victory...so this comes as no surprise after a string of losses.

Cote...yea....bout time.

GG had so much potential, but he never really had that 'heart' to take it to the next level.
Cote Im at odds with 2 fights ago he was fighting for the title and he loses two in a row and is axed?
Hopefully these guys will land in SF or some other organization and rebuild themselves..

I agree with both statements.

I'm not surprised that they were cut.

Ironic, innit?

They keep that schmuck but release Patrick and Gabriel (I like them both but they are just too lackluster and this is a good decision, IMO).

Now do the right thing, Dana, and give Tito his walking papers too.

Yeah, surprising, although I did like him as a coach on TUF.

the isnt enough room on the boat for everyone.

Gonzaga messed up crocop...but that was several years ago now, hes been a dissapointment since then. Cote was screwed by the knee I think. They perhaps should have given him one more chance...but lets face it...he hasnt been the same since his opp has he

Agreed. The Belcher fight I can overlook, because Belcher is an emerging talent & is a tough fight coming off a long layoff. Tom Lawlor had lost 2 in a row (albeit one of them a close split decision) & was in danger of getting cut himself. To me it's a far fall after fighting for the title.

I saw Gonzaga's cut coming. He has all the talent in the world, but very little fight IQ. His twitter after his loss showed that. It was like he couldn't figure out what he could have done differently other than hope for a win....
