They sold Marcus Davis' Irish heritage and that was a much bigger stretch.

I think he was born and raised in Yuma AZ, and also lived in California, but same thing pretty much, and that's right on the California border. I know what you are saying though, it's no different than Oscar De La Hoya or Tito Ortiz.

I think it's more for the Hispanic Americans who will rally behind that and actually buy PPV's. I'm not sure if Cain is actually going to be the star that helps bring them into Mexico City for a live event, but that would be nice for the sport if he did.

Watched the fights at the bar with a couple amigos and I have to agree regarding Rogan. Sometimes it really is nice to not be able to hear the commentary... Kampmann/Shields was frustrating for me and I left amazed that judges gave Jake the W (especially the 30-27, really???). Everyone with me felt the same way.

I even purchased the PPV last night just to rewatch that one to see if I was off or what. The way Joe was talking up Jake really made it seem like he was doing way more than he was. Simple fact was it was a pretty poor performance by Jake, and Martin really hesitated to pull the trigger even though I saw him get the better of the exchanges over the fight on the whole. Oh well.

I think Matt would have almost effortlessly walked through the Jake we saw on Saturday. Guy seemed in bad shape, maybe from the big weight dump...

As far as I could see, there was no dominating period for either of them, but I thought Kampmann edged it out over Shields.

another awesome blog matt!,really enjoyed the videos too!!..i was totally surprised by the way cain squashed brock,however,he comes across as a very humble,down to earth guy,very respectable.he'll be a great champion me reckons!
