Bones only hit him with like one "12-6" elbow before Maz stepped in, and he did deduct a point. However Hamil was pretty messed up so they stopped the fight and gave Bones a DQ.

Bones was dominating that fight, and that is a crappy way to lose.

Yeah, I thought so too; it's a crappy way to win too. But I had a lot of respect for Jones--the way he took it.

It's amazing to me that there aren't more orbital fractures and fractures to those thinner bones across that part of the face/head in this sport.

There are more than we hear about on the smaller levels, without a doubt. However I would guess the bigger reason for that is because stoppages come quicker and the fights are shorter than in Boxing, for instance.

Last night, Vitali Klitschko almost beat Shannon Briggs to death in Germany because the fight basically went on 4 rounds too long. The ref and the corner didn't stop the fight because this was basically Briggs last shot at a title, and he ended up in intensive care with multiple facial fractures because of it.

I know the fighters might think it's worth it--not stopping the fight, especially if they feel it is their last chance for the title--but it's not! I had to have head/brain surgery in '07 (somehow some bone went missing ) so when I see repeated strikes to the front of the face and head like with Jones/Hamil, it's hard for me to watch. I guess it's a good thing I don't watch boxing!

I met him at the UFC Fan Expo

Sorry...but he's really small...well he's like very slim indeed...what we would call "just skin and bones"

Ryan Bader was a little more physically overwhelming I'd say...met him to
