Old Settlers Parade 2010
This week was the annual Old Settlers celebration in Hillsboro. It's 2 days of carnival rides, carnival food, and parades topped off with one big parade on the last night, which just happened to be last night. Matt pulled the Orpheum Theater float this year (Mark's pulled it the last couple of years), so here are some pics from the parade:
      Matt pulling the Orpheum float:     Everything seems to be going smoothly...  Until Mark starts pelting Matt with candy as he passes by:       Next, Mark starts up a small candy war with the Eisentrauts, the owners of the Orpheum Theater:     I think Mark was just mad that he got stuck with the pink hardhat:  Actually, it was Lola's hat, but she put in on Mark and he left it on just long enough for me to get these photos.  It was nice knowing you all.    Lola really did enjoy the parade, despite her glaring at me in this photo:

great pics (as always) Nater. The Orpheum circuit has a long standing history in the Theater biz, and most towns across the country has these house. when the "talkies" came around most of these old theaters turned into movie houses and this was the death of vaudeville and the major touring circuit. Very cool that Matt pulled the float for this family.

I was going to say what did you do to tick Miss Lola off, Nate.
I think I see some other men in the background wearing those pink hardhats too. They must have seen Mark with his on and thought, "I wanna pink one!" Great pictures! Matt's tractor is so cute.

Thats Lola's,"Get back Jack look", That hard hat fit's Mark to a tee. Thats the best,"Picture Show",(my oldest son, Ian,love's it when I call it that, said it brings out the old man in me) anywhere, just a great place to watch a movie. Nate, great pictures.

i'd rather have on a pink hard hat than have my skull fractured by falling debris.... like hard candy whizzing towards my head, parades are danger zones you know, osha does not approve of unprotected craniums
laugh it up, but pink hard hard is better than hospital stay any day
