tonight IMO anderson silva earned his right to be considered an MMA legend. dana said it best in the post press conference "this is the kind of fight that makes legends"

and hughes created a new legendary win tonight, maybe his most spectacular finish ever.

I think both were already legends, but I can agree with what your saying.

Remember though, the last time you started a thread and said somebody was a legend, you ended up taking it back... just sayin...

I don't agree with the OP at all. 10 seconds out of 20+ mins does not make one a legend. Puhlease. It certainly doesn't negate all the antics of the past fights that people have been pressing him about. If anything, it only makes it worse. He wasn't able to do anything in the fight to make him a consideration of the title "legend". That's ridiculous to even suggest it.

He won, plain and simple. That's it.

Consider the difference between sodifying Matt as a legend and trying to call AS a legend after these performances.

Matt did something no one else has done to this guy. What did AS do? He got his butt handed to him for almost 25 mins, and then slips on a triangle. A single lapse in concentration from his oponent does not make a legend. Sorry.

If the roles had been reversed, and AS pummled CS for the entire fight, and THEN won, or finished the fight, then we can start considering his stock worth something again. Not after this performance though.

hughes was always a legend and yes, this just adds to his legacy ....

anderson, this drops him to number 2 on the P4P list behind GSP

Dana is full of sh*t, when Fedor gets beat up and finds a way to win then 'he's overrated, was not impressive at all and looked like sh*t', but when Anderson Silva gets exposed and spannered for nearly 5 rounds and pulls out a late sub, it's a fight that makes him a legend...go figure.
