I think it was a good decision by the referee to not stop the fight because Brock was intelligently defending himself, he was at no point unconcious, as he was covering up and "weathering the storm" so to speak. He came back and won, so you have to give credit to the ref for not stopping the fight early.

Cain has no chance, he'll just get taken down with ease and pounded on..
How long before Shane would get another shot at Brock?

Probably one or two fights. I doubt Dana will push for an immediate rematch on this one.

Well, I think Cain has dibs on Brock... So, i'm kind of interested to see who they pair Shane up against? Maybe Junior Dos Santos, he's definitely got rock solid striking as well.

Could be an interesting fight me thinks.

I hope Shane works on his Cardio, I really think he can become champ.

I guess. I just thought when they're just covering their heads like that for a while and not fighting back, the ref usually calls it.

To tell you the truth, when I saw the ref they chose for the main fight, I was alarmed. That particular ref has not impressed me and I thought he might screw up. I'm glad nothing like that happened.

Did Dana seem kinda subdued to you when he gave Brock the belt? I wonder if he was rooting for Shane?

Oh, me too, especially after tonight! How much cardio can these big guys have realistically--the ones who go out and fight like Shane and Brock? I know that's why you don't want a lot of bulky muscles, but these guys are so big anyway...

Boy, for such a great night of fights, there sure isn't a lot of jabbering going on in this thread.

Maybe you aren't, but there are some haters. I think it's utterly hilarious that Brock weathered the storm of lunchbox hands that were supposed to knock him out cold for a couple minutes, then stood back up at the end of the first and came out for the second round with a smile on his face. Brock let Carwin wear himself out and laughed it off, then he just took him down and dominated him with that division 1 wrestling. Once he mounted Carwin, it was over. He could have postured up and clobbered the snot of him but the choke was priceless, as was the look on Carwin's face, as if to say..."NOOOO not like this!"

Dana should be very happy that the Golden Goose didn't lay an egg in this case.
