Draws have always been in Football. In a league season you get 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw or 0 for a loss. In the first round of the World Cup they are in mini leagues of 4 teams, once this stage is over you get to the knock out phase where there is extra time and penalties if need be, no draws!

How in the heck can you have tie games in the biggest tournament?

I will admit, I know nothing about how the World Cup is organized, but that just seems crazy to me. Have a series or just make it one and done.

i don't really know how it set up either, but i think its pool play now and they get so many points for a win, 1 for a draw and none for a loss...So they need points to advance to the next round, once they are later in the tournament I think they have free kicks(like a hockey shootout) to break ties

I kinda figured that much, I just think it's silly.

The most exciting tournaments are one and done, like the NFL playoffs or NCAA Basketball. Granted, I understand that is a part of the World Cup in it's next stage, but why bother having draws in the tournament at all? In the regular season that is one thing, but the biggest tournament shouldn't have games that are left undecided. It's very anti-climatic in my opinion.

yeah i agree, but thats why we mostly agree here in america that soccer is BS

I really have tried to watch it, and I'm an athletic training student and was assigned to soccer last semester...Kicking the ball around and practice isn't to bad, but the games are so dreadfully boring that i wanted to stab my eyes out


I understand the rules of soccer and everything, but there is just so little offense...I like the basic concept of soccer, which is why I love hockey....Hockey and soccer have the same basic concept(put object in net past goalie to score a goal) but hockey moves so much faster, its more physical, and there is more offense...I'd rather watch a 10 year old hockey league game than a world cup soccer game...Indoor soccer is better to watch imo because the playing area is much smaller which leads to more offense

atleast you lost to a top 5 team and not Ghana

Then again Soccer is like the 4th or 5th most popular team sport in america as opposed to a religion in England so it probably stings alot more for you guys
