Default When will Silva be challenged?

Ok, realize I did not see his last fight, but have seen the others. When is Dana going to put someone in the Octagon that can challenge this guy? Chael Sonnen? Really? Wasn't Forrest supposed to challenge him?

Right now (and I know this is going to ruffle some feathers) I just don't see anyone that can beat him at MW or LHW. Am I wrong? If so, state your case please because he has made it look toooooo easy.

Please don't say GSP either. As much as I like him and realize how talented he is, he has nothing for Silva.

Well what do you mean by challenge? Henderson was putting up a good fight and then it came crashing down.

Sonnen, although prob not going to beat Silva, will bring the fight to him. He has the wrestling ability to get Silva to the ground if he is able to close the gap. I dont think this striking is good enough to compete with Silva though

Vitor has the hand speed to match Silva and when Vitor is on he is a very very dangerous.

GSP would def bring the fight to Silva. Im not sure if GSP could beat Silva but he is not just gonna stand there and let Silva punch him. He is going to work for the takedown and he will force Silva to fight

Jon Jones would be a really interesting fight in my opinion. His striking is different enough that it could force Silva to work a different style of game plan

Shogun had a great game plan against Machida and I think he would be able to work the same game plan against Silva and will have success.

actually i think GSP has a very good chance of beating Silva.

its much easier for GSP to force the fight to the ground then it is for AS to force the fight to take place on the feet.

and if the fight takes place on the ground GSP beats him 9 out of 10 all day long.

I do not buy, and HATE the not being challenged excuse,
he hasn't walked through anybody at MW in 3 years.
If he was so far ahead of these guys he would have finished them

Personally... I think he has some emotional/psychological issues.... but I agree with your post.

Yeah, I just think that he is well aware of the glory/money and pretty much getting to do whatever you want if you're champ and putting guys away. He also knows the after effects of what happens when he puts on snooze fests and whines about fighting names....

If he could so easily put these guys away,
what person would rather run, or not fight,
and be the most hated champion in MMA? Get hate mail,
lose fans, have your boss talk bad about you, etc...

When he is challenged, he steps up to the plate. I think we saw that with the two Franklin fights and the Hendo fight.

He seems to lose interest with the lesser names and just coasts...atleast that is how it is appearing to me.

I would like to see him fight Rampage, Couture, Ortiz, ect..

I am starting to feel like Dana doesn't want Silva cleaning house in the LHW as easily as he did the MW. Maybe I am wrong, but that is what it is starting to look like to me.

Since Sonnen (R) is getting the shot, i am assuming Vitor is still not able to fight?

Perhaps the question should be, why doesn't Silva challenge himself? We he agree he is the cream of the crop of all fighters. I think Silva could challenge himself more in some of these fights instead of being content to simply win.
I do see the other side of the argument about styles making fights and opponents being willing to engage in the fight as well. If Silva wanted to risk a little more and challenge himself to finish guys in these boring fights, he probably would finish them. He's that good.

I believe so and I'm not sure what the deal is with Vitor is neither.
