Challenging Anderson Silva

It's no mystery that every time Dana White is pissed about Silva's performance, it's because he wasn't challenged.

Is there a MW out there to challenge him? Would a fight with Belfort have been any different than Maia? Since Silva is a counter-striker and Belfort is an aggressive striker.....would that have played right into Silva's hands?

What weight division would best challenge Silva...WW or LHW?

I think the tougher fights for Anderson are definately in Light Heavyweight. There are a lot of good match ups for him there.
1. Rua - very aggressive striker
2. Rampage - agressive striker
3. Rashad - could challenge with the takedown
4. Bones Jones - down the road might be as good as Silva or better
5. Thiago Silva - another agressive striker

just to name a few.

I think Sonnen (R) would be able to give him a go ... but it would be by taking anderson down and trying to score and keep him there ...

Well Belfort is not only aggressive but is a serious threat for anyone when he fights. I think Silva knows this and would go out there to fnish it instead of playing around. Maia aint going to knock your head of Thales aint going to knock your head of, Belfort would. Maybe SOnnen would be another good choice for Silva

Great ground guys with zero stand up are at a huge dis advantage against Silva. Rich, Hendo, Nate MArq, are those guys who can stand and strike or take it to the ground, those guys have a good mix of both.

Still dont know how Maia got a title shot coming off a 1 win steak

I think it was the logical choice. If you were a matchmaker in the UFC, who would you suggest that Silva fought at 112 when Belfort had to pull out?
