Default How did you score the fight?

I was a little disappointed with the Penn decision when I originally watched the fight. I didn't think Edgar did enough to win. That was my first impression. So I rewatched the fight with the sound off and tried to judge the rounds for myself.
I am curious for those who saw the fight how they would have scored the rounds. Its kind of interesting to me how people can see the fight differently. Lets call it a little experiment.

After rewatching the fight I had rounds 1 to 3 for Penn and rounds 4 and 5 for Edgar. All rounds were close and all rounds were 10 - 9.

I guess by that I still have Penn winning the fight. Personally I am not distressed by the decision but am concerned how one judge could score all 5 rounds for Edgar.
How did you score the fight?

i scored all 5 rounds for BJ .. kidding, take that Vizion ... LOL

nah, every round was close ... i thought BJ won the first and second, the third was close and frankie getting 4 and 5 ... but a judge giving all five rounds to edgar depends on what criteria carried a greater weight for them .. if it was aggression, then frankie could very well have won all five rounds ... i hate giving a round to someone just cuz they are the champ and the round was close ... apparently so do the judges ... there are always gonna be fights like this, shogun/rua and forrest/rampage, so there will always be controversy ....

I watched it and still give a slight edge to Penn in the first 3 rounds. Edgar won 4 and 5. The scoring from the judges was all over the place. 1 judge had penn losing all the rounds, another judge had Penn losing 4 rounds, another judge had Penn winning 2 rounds.

Penn stopped a bunch of take downs and was more effective when they clinched, the striking was close. It looked like Edgar had more of a high volume of throws that might have interested the judges more, who know.

It is a really tough score. the way Edgar was moving and even when BJ hit him he didn't show that he was affected by the shots. That kind of energy through every round is deceiving. I honestly thought it was too close to ave the belt change hands, but in round 4 everyone i was watching with were saying "wow Edgar might be winning the belt tonight". Close decision but it didn't totally surprise based on the flow of the fight. I think there is definitely call for an immediate rematch.

Douglas Crosby (one of the judges from that fight) put it rightly.

“In my considered opinion, Edgar dictated the tone of the fight, successfully implemented and executed a strategy, landed better strikes, and basically outworked Penn. I re-watched the fight in my hotel in Abu Dhabi and saw nothing that would influence me to score it any differently".

I respect that score better then the 50 to 45 score. Cause I know Penn won at least 2 rounds, I gave him 3 others I know gave Edgar 3-5.

I pretty clearly scored the first 3 rounds for BJ.

*shrug*
I cannot think of how anybody would score all 5 for Frankie

I would have to agree with this statement.
