Regarding Ireland Sexual Abuse

A remarkable admittance from Pope Benedict that the Roman Catholic Church has let down those involved in the child abuse scandles...and a beautifully written and spoken appology, promising steps of reconciliation and justice

Because last week I believe there was a case in Germany that came up...the Priest who actually committed the crime, was someone who was I believe appointed by Benedict...back when he was Cardinal Ratzinger.

On top of that there was also a case of the Priests who got young men to fetch gays for them.

You know...Ireland, The US, Australia he can ignore...but when it strike in his own community...or involves a priest he might have had some personal duty over...He has to start addressing the issue...and he knows it.

That would be my best guess as to timing...that and the fact its no longer an isolated incident in Ireland...but its poping up all over the planet...he's kinda forced to make some sort of vocal acknowledgement it exists...I'm still quite suprised he actually admitted it so wholeheartedly, and appologised for it so much...he only needed to make mention of it in some kinda acknolwedgment...the fact he appologised and was moved to make such a big deal about it gives me hope that maybe he's not as bad a Pope as I thought.
