I wanna play... but I don't have an Ipod because Apple is evil....
Instead, I will just grab a stack of vinyl records off my shelf and list the first 20 of them. I could attempt to shuffle them like playing cards, but that could be complicated and messy. 1. "The Outlaws", a compilation album featuring Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Jessi Colter, and Tompall Glaser. - I have listened to this album once 2. Ozzy Osbourne "Bark at the Moon" - any Ozzy is great, but the vinyl is even better 3. Best of the Blues Brothers - a classic movie, with classic music, can't go wrong here. 4. Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon" - I don't play this copy because it's an early pressing and in really good condition. I even have the posters that were inserted in the album in 1973. 5. The Doors self titled first album - another early pressing that I have only played a couple of times. The warmth and static of the record adds a great tone to all of The Doors music. 6. Michael Jackson "Thriller" - this album is a "photo-disc" re-issue for the 25th anniversary of Thriller. On side A it has the classic pose of Michael in the white jacket from the album cover, on side B it features MJ in the red Thriller Jacket surrounded by zombies from the video. 7. U2 "The Joshua Tree" - great band, great album. I have played it once. 8. The Doors "Alive She Cried" - A Doors live album. Not much to see here but some classic Morrison ranting and a great cover of the song "Gloria". 9. Slipknot "Iowa" - Nifty sleeve, and cool inserts, but this kind of metal is too busy for me to appreciate the quality of hearing it on vinyl. 10. Fleetwood Mac "Rumors" - one of my all time favorites. Stevie Nicks is hot, and Linday Buckingham picks open tuning like no other. 11. Led Zeppelin "Physical Graffiti" - this album has so much crap packed in the sleeve it's like a file in a filing cabinet. this particular copy also smells like the 70's, what a shocker. 12. Jimi Hendrix "Smash Hits" - 12 classic cuts from the original guitar hero. I remember buying this when I was 13. 13. Stevie Wonder "Songs in the Key of Life" - Stevie Wonder is a musical genius and this is some of his finest work. 14. Eagles "Hotel California" - This album has a weird etching on the inner rim that says "V.O.L. is five piece live". Obviously that means the song Victim of Love was recorded live in some manner, but it's not often I notice that on my records. Usually that space only contains the catalogue numbers and such. 15. Johnny Cash is Coming to Town - This is a great pickup for any Cash fan. It has an awesome cover of the old song "Sixteen Tons". 16. The Highwaymen - a compilation of songs sung by Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. A classic, nuff said. 17. Jesus Christ Superstar - This is old and I've never played it, but the sleeve and inserts are epic, and it even includes a book to follow along with the whole thing. 18. The Monkees "Not Your Stepping Stone/I'm a Believer" - this is a 45 of the Monkees, nuff said. 19. Elton John "Crocodile Rock" - this is a 45 with Elderberry Wine on the B-side. It's a bit worn and I've never played it. 20. Oscar the Grouch "I love Trash" - Best record evar. it barely plays because I played it so much. |

What if I don't own an iPod? I saved a lot of money by purchasing a generic mp3 player, it's lasted 3 years
