But I'm actually not at all sad. I have asked GOD specifically to shut doors he doesnt want me to go through. He doesnt make mistakes....As I was sitting at lunch feeling a little down though, I remembered something I had read in the Advertizer over breakfast. You all probably know that Birds symbolize to me GODs love for Humanbeings, and you might also know if you've kept up with my threads in this section over the last few weeks, that owls hold particular importance to me. Well I thought back to what I read about a Bird called The Eagle Owl...apparently they are really quite rare, and one has been spotted this past week in a place called Pately Bridge, its calling continuously, they speculate to its mate which is somewhere in the area surrounding Harrogate but yet to be seen. Just to put this into proportion, an Eagle Owl, this particular one, has been clocked and TWO FEET TALL and a Wingspan of SIX FEET! that is one GIGANTIC Bird capable of swooping and lifting small animals like cats and maybe they think even sheep!! For some reason I found that a great comfort. AN EAGLE owl with a six-foot wingspan has taken up residence on a Pateley Bridge roof. The magnificent creature, reportedly big enough to carry off a cat or a lamb, is keeping residents awake with its distinctive hoot. Spotted last week in Springfield Way, and the churchyard earlier in the week, the beautiful bird has been perched on the roof of a Millfield Street care home for the past few days. Neighbour Peter Scott said: "It seems comfortable enough, it's coo-cooing away. "It's now resident in Pateley Bridge, hopping from house to house." He said the bird is about 2ft tall, with a 6ft wingspan, and would be capable of carrying off a small deer. "It's a beautiful animal," he said. "My main concern is that is it may need looking after." The Harrogate Advertiser's resident wildlife expert, Nigel Heptinstall, said the eagle owl posed little threat to pets as it favoured rabbits and rats. He believes the bird is a wild one, and may be one half of a mating pair which has lived in North Yorkshire for years. Alternatively, he said, it could be one of their offspring. "If it's calling, which it is, it could be looking for a mate," he said. "In which case, it should be on its way soon enough." To have a wild eagle owl in England is very rare, they are native to northern Europe and are more often found in captivity. "It's a very small risk to pets," said Mr Heptinstall. "There has been a pair living in North Yorkshire for years, and nobody has reported anything. This suggests that it is not in their nature." Birds of prey are protected under British law. Mr Heptinstall has centered his monthly column, due to appear in next Friday's edition, on the bird, its nature, and roots. it looks something like this

That is an impressive owl!
I think that God does often "throw us a bone" when we are feeling down or blue. Often, when I am having a horrible day, God will "throw me a bone" ( my Nana's favorite saying. I don't mean to offend anyone! ) and grant me something small but meaningful that helps me cope with things. It could very well be that He has allowed this owl to inhabit the area where you are so that it would bring comfort to you. And Dave I am a BIG believer in waiting on God to direct you where He wants you to go. So you are right in trusting Him and not fighting it. If you didn't get the position you applied for, it must be because He wants you somewhere else. |

Quote:
Owls, of all the birds, thus far, have held an extremely important significance in my understanding. Birds are a symbol that remind me I have value, worth and am loved by GOD, Owls have shown up in all the areas where I have had some level of Revelation. When I went to pray to GOD in the Sanctum, there was an owl, when I had my revelation of GOD in the Ordinary, there was an Owl, when I went to bless Martin Warners consecration (a difficult thing for me considering what he has done to me in the past) which involved a completely different way of treating your enemies, there was an Owl. Now I have asked GOD to help and guide me in finding work....and when Saint Albans turns me down (remember I used to work in a Cathedral, it was a hard time, and many of them have unfairly rejected me in the years since) he sends a MASSIVE AND RARE Owl. Thats not cooincidence. These are Signs, Signs that he knows I will interpret as stark reminders that he approves of me, or that he has enlightened me, or that he is still guiding me, even if I dont get a job I perhaps wanted. He knows I am a J, and he works to that quite often, for example, the day of the revelation of GOD in the ordinary was the night of Candlemass, after sunset...it was the first day of ordinary time in the liturgical callendar, his timming, impeccable! This last week when He saved my bacon big time at work...first day of the season of Lent...I do not Kid!...and guess what, today my Mother told me how Owls were a Gothic Symbol in the Middle Ages...Gothic Ikons are my speciaility...do we find it strange that GOD picked the Owl? No...not in the slightest! That is how My GOD works and a large aspect of how he communicates with me. He knows how I will interpret such things. It may be small, it may be insignificant to a lot of people...it may even be stupid...and yes, complete and utter cooincidence...but firstly, if its not him, and I give him the glory for it anyway, I dont think he will mind, and secondly, I am convinced its him, and if others think its a foolish notion...well...what do they know
