When we lived in a smaller town, we actually got flyers left at our door when a sex offender moved into the neighborhood. This was in the 90's and early 2000s; I suppose the ACLU put a kabosh on that...

Right now Kentucky is in a bind cause some court said our law restricting where sex offenders live can't be applied retroactively. I forget the details but the purpose was to keep them away from School's and Parks!

I know what you're saying, Black Mamba, but I think that the system does let us know in that there are websites that shows where they are residing in one's area. I usually don't look at it because it's so depressing (I believe we have 7 in our neighborhood, levels 1-3).

Reopen Alcatraz? Heck no they are talking about getting rid of it completely ( they do tours now). It's some of the most expensive real estate in the world.There is talk of making that little island into a resort
