Default The reason why GSP will never be "Great" like Hughes, Penn, Silva, etc

GSP will never reach the greatness of other champions like matt hughes, bj penn and anderson silva. here's why

GSP is an amazing athlete, and one of the best P4P fighters in the world, but he has trouble finishing his opponents. Sherdog's latest article about GSP sums it up best: anderson silva has gone the distance only once in his UFC career; st. pierre, six.

look at bj penn. he is tearing up everyone in his weight class and putting them away. complete and utter domination in what is probably the toughest division in the organization.

and last but not least you have matt hughes, who only went to decision twice during his entire run as champion.

gsp is great but he lacks that golden touch of finishing his opponents. in MMA, finishing opponents (and more importantly, CONSISTENTLY finishing opponents) is what separates the greats from the Greats.

if GSP keeps this up, he will always be remembered as only a great athlete and nothing more. it will be the penn's, the hughes's and the anderson silva's who will be remembered as the brutal and devastating champions who struck fear into the heart of their enemies.

That artical also stated that Georges is accutely aware that he's lost the ability to finish...and isnt happy about it....

The only things GSP has finished recently are a tub of vaseline and maybe a bottle of red wine.
