American Idol - Season 9

Well, I thought that I'd start a Season 9 AI thread...for two reasons.

1. There isn't one yet, to discuss the actual show.
2. I'm extremely bored right now.

So, I will start the thread off with news of the first AI controversy of Season 9.

Ya know, if this kid has his chance blown because his dad is an idiot it'll be really sad. I'd be soo mad if one of my family members opened their mouth and got me kicked off a show that could make me a millionaire. Geez. Poor kid.

Kinda shocked, but we have a guy from Morris IL and Joliet,IL going to the next round.

Well, I was kinda miffed during last night's episode.

The worship pastor (sang his own song) comes on, the guy early in the show, with three kids and Avril Lavigne denies his "passage to Hollywood" because she doesn't think that it's a good thing for him to be gone and live the life of a pop star should he win. Yet, when the (presumably single) mother of one rocker chick (that sang the Pat Benatar song) comes on, little Dr. Lavigne is all for it. Wouldn't the (presumably) single mother (heck even if she is married it's the same situation) have a lot to give up to become a pop star?

What an idiot!!!!!

I agree, I thought that was weird as well. I didn't understand her reasoning for denying one but not the other.

I think it's because he is a pastor. I think she had something against that.

Katy Perry did much better as a guest judge than Avril Lavigne.

I agree about Katy Perry. I'm sure that Avril did say no because he's a pastor. I wonder if she was thinking that she was doing him a favor by saying no to keep him from becoming corrupted by the music world of if she just didn't want him to go through. She was wearing that devil hoodie after all.

Couldnt agree more! Never been a fan of Avril and she was truely showing her maturity last night. Katy Perry did much better and I loved how she made Kara looks stupid a few times too!
