I do agree with him that the cage does give off a more violent appeal than a traditional ring. However it don't really bother me.
What I don't understand is why he draws a parallel to Sugar Ray Leonard in his comparison? I understand that in boxing you don't hit people when they are on the ground, but Sugar Ray was a prizefighter, which is no different from what fighters in MMA are. Boxers beat each other senseless, and sometimes to death for nothing more than fame, accolades, and money. So how is that any different? |

i dont agree with him, however i can understand and respect his opinion more than what people who dislike MMA normally say, really all he said is its to violent for him he prefers traditional martial arts competitions and somehow tossed in a plug for sugar ray
would rather hear people say this than the normal comparison to chicken fights, and refering to fights from the early days that they most likely never seen where moves where used that are now illegal anyway |

Who cares? My reaction to this is the same reaction I have every time a celebrity starts speaking out on subjects that are not movie-related: that's nice, now shut up so I can watch your movie.
