Back in 2005, the year of Katrina and Rita, there was a lot of suffering by some good people here in Louisiana. I don't care much for New Orleans and after Katrina I'll admit I thought "they" deserved it. Not exactly proud of that thought. Yeah I feel conflicted about this. At my school we let students in late from the New Orleans area so they could continue to work on their degrees. Several from that area had to stay here for an extended period. The locals rose to the occasion and several of the evacuees decided to stay. Kind of proud of that. I have family that live in the hurricane zone, and during Gustav my home had six more occupants than usual. I was glad to do it. So for the earthquake victims Ill do what I can. I know my church has some relief efforts planned. |
