A gift or a test?

I've been having a lot of financial trouble latelywith the holidays and all...


Every penny really counts this year.

I've prayed for strength many a times and today I think I recieved a small gift in some way.

I had to fill up my car with gas this morning however I think the gentleman made a mistake and only charged me $1.00 on my debit card for $27 worth of fuel..

I did not notice until now.

I'm not sure if this is a small help or is it a test to see my resolve.

I'm conflicted as to how I should feel and what I should do...


It was a seven eleven gas station and the clark did not speak very much English I dont think he would understand even if I went back to explain.

What do you guys think?

Unfortunately brother I believe it's neither. Most gas stations authorize your credit/ATM card for a dollar to make sure it's active then when the batch runs at end of business the actual amount will be sent to your bank.

If your receipt actually says $1 then you're probably in luck... if you're going by what your bank says online... I'm pretty sure you'll be charged the full amount.

Check with your bank to make sure that the full amount was charged to your account. If not, then return to the store with the other $26. If the guy doesn't understand and won't take the money, then put it in the church offering plate this Sunday or give it to one of those Salvation Army bell-ringers that you see this time of year.

Being an honest person means doing the right thing even when it causes you discomfort or pain.

Chuck's right. My bank does this and sometimes it takes a week or so for it to show the full amt.

yes, Jesus can turn water into wine, but the question is what would Jesus do?

Jesus would not only return the money but he would give an extra 27 dollars, plus the clothes off his back. keep that in mind my friend.

if you find that you truly were only charged a Dollar this morning for your fill up then go back and pay the rest...Nate is right on this one it is very important to be honest in a situation like this...besides i have been around for a while and in my opinion Karma is a very real thing and it can be bad or it can be good..... take my advice on this one and always try to go for the good Karma.
