I think they should have raised the ship a long time ago and given a proper burrial to all the people still trapped on the wreck...imagine banging on the base of the upturned hull because all you want to do is get out of the ship...to be left, eternally, in an underwater tomb you spent your last moments praying you'd get out of.

tyburn the reason the reason they don't remove the bodies or the ship is because if they tamper with it they are afraid it will release the entire oil supply which will destroy the harbor and beyond. that is why they let it leak out one drop at a time because eventually it will run out on its own and won't hurt much. the fact is they simply can't do anything, just like the bodies left on mount everest.

There are bodies on Mount Everest

Couldnt they have found a way to drill into the tanks and drain the oil...then if the ship were to break up when raised it wouldnt matter on an environmental level. Maybe they actually didnt have that technology at the time...that could be true

I still think its sad though
