Navy - Family tradition.

Marines, but I got turned down because of some......uh.....knee problems

I almsot joined the Navy. Two buddies joined around the same time and I was very close to following suit. Got involved in theatre and got pulled away. I have the utmost respect for anyone with the strength to serve in the military.I work with a guy who has two sons in the SEALS. I can't imagine the worry he constantly goes thru. I admire a man that produces the elite fighting men of our country.

I can understand that, they might actually capture a terrorist someday and get prosecuted because the terrorist stubbed his toe while being escorted to his cell.

yeah, no kidding.

It's really annying to listen to any president talk over a plan of action for our military as though they came up with the plan or have even a minute understanding of what an operation will entail. It annoyed me when Bush did it, and it annoys me when Obama does it.

22 years active duty Army here and would do it all again. If I had to choose another branch, it would be the Marines.

i was in the navy and am very happy with the choice because of the options available for the enlisted person.

spec ops options - eod, seals and sar
aviation - technician, crewman or support equipment
shipboard - from radio and sonar to deisel and nuclear

misc billets not covered above would be firefighter, law enforcement admin and so on.

i was a sar swimmer assigned to ch-46's and loved every minute of it. at reenlistment time my package was accepted for eod and i was actually temorarily assigned to an eod unit for a while but opted to get out instead.
