Thats sort of what I was thinking.
That it was either fake, or no wonder he has a small gas tank.

You would see a HUGE loss in quality fights due to extreme fatigue from cutting weight. Think TUF 10 with the heavyweights in all weight classes. It would suck.

Agreed!!! I think that if a fighter has to step on to the scales before walking into the cage/ring... I think you would see more honest weight classes.

but if EVERYONE has to make the same weight before a fight.. then I guess it isn't as big a deal... AL I think if you don't make weight.. you don't fight. It should NOT be up to the other fighter.. cause if I am supposed to fight at 170.. but come in at 174 *cough*alves* and I get a catchweight fight.. sure I lose some of my purse.. but I have an unfair advantage....

that blows..

I think you should weigh the day before, and the night of.

You should not be able to gain more than 5lbs in between,
guys really need to start fighting at their actual weight class.

Same day weigh-ins would force everyone up a weight class but would be safer for the fighters. The extreme weight cuts really takes a toll on their bodies.

It seems crazy to see guys as big as Alves fighting at 170 when you know he steps into the cage closer to 185/190.
