NEWS RELEASE
Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms 12500 N.E. Tenth Place Bellevue, WA 98005 CCRKBA BLASTS DALEY'S 'NEW LOW,' FOR BLAMING FORT HOOD MASSACRE ON GUNS For Immediate Release: November 11, 2009 BELLEVUE, WA – Anti–gun Chicago Mayor Richard Daley has reached a new low in his attempt to blame the Fort Hood massacre on firearms, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today. “Mayor Daley is deplorably capitalizing on the outrage at Fort Hood to push his gun prohibition agenda,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “This is the height of moral bankruptcy from a man whose administration was sued Wednesday morning by the Chicago inspector general over apparent interference with an investigation into possible wrongdoing by current and former city employees.” On Monday, Daley reacted to the Fort Hood shooting by telling reporters, “Unfortunately, America loves Guns. We love guns to a point where that, uh, we see devastation on a daily basis. You don’t blame a group.” “You don’t blame guns, either,” Gottlieb fired back. “You hold the perpetrator responsible for his crime, not the instruments he used. Would Daley blame cars for the highway carnage created by drunk drivers? “Perhaps the real culprit here,” he continued, “is former President Bill Clinton. The Washington Times revealed this morning that after he took office in 1993, the Army, under Clinton, instituted a ban on the carrying of firearms by military personnel on their bases. As a result, soldiers have been disarmed and left vulnerable to this kind of attack. Using Daley’s logic, he should blame Clinton for the Fort Hood massacre. That makes more sense than blaming guns. “Daley has an agenda,” Gottlieb observed, “that he shares with other anti–gun extremists. They will exploit any tragedy to pursue their goal of public disarmament and destruction of the Second Amendment. Whether it is the assassination of a Seattle police officer, the murder of 13 people at Fort Hood, or the horrible body count of crime victims that has piled up in Chicago under Daley’s regime, they will dance through the blood toward the nearest sympathetic microphone to push their cause. “America must ignore the ravings of anti–gun fanatics,” he concluded, “who are so blinded by a hatred for individual liberty and personal protection that they cannot see how foolish and petty they have become.” With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is one of the nation’s premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass-roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States. The Citizens Committee can be reached by phone at (425) 454-4911, on the Internet at www.ccrkba.org or by email to InformationRequest@ccrkba.org. -END- |

I suppose the airplanes made the 9/11 terrorists do it as well, LOL. I cannot get over how down right crazy this had gotten. The government would play hell getting my guns away f/ me, and I assure you there are some crazier SOB's out there about guns then me; though they would have to be pretty crazy. I just believe that, locks are for honest people as so are guns.

I don't know how many heard about it, but there was also a Marine murdered at Camp Lejune a couple days after this happened. One of my best friends from high school is a Marine at Lejune and worked with the deceased Marine, and he said that after this happened they were locked down in the barracks and told that if something happened to use whatever they could to defend themselves in the event that it was something more than an isolated situation. Jarred was the most armed in his unit being armed with the bow that he hunts with. So I must ask, what in the hell is going on with this? Marines and soldiers, trained to fight, cannot defend themselves on their home soil?

Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me understand something. I have always been curious as to what exactly the gun acquisition process is in the states? From the time I was young, and from what I have been told by relative living in the states, getting a gun is as easy as picking up a fork. Now obviously this is blowing it up real nice, and i know that the media, and pop culture like to make it seem as if crazies are roaming the streets with assault rifles sometimes, but how exactly do you get a firearm????
For example, here in canada you have to do the following. 1) Take a firearm practical course (usually 48 hrs of training) 2) Take a firearm safety corse (usually 12 hrs) 3) Submit proof of these documents to a licence bureau along with your application for a gun licence 4) Wait a few months so the GOVT can do a full background check and mail your licence. ----You wont get it if: you a convicted criminal, awaiting trial, lack proper proof of citizenship yadda yadda. And it can be revoked if you do commit a crime. ----Now once you have the licence, you can go out buy pretty whatever you want with no hassle: rifles, pistols, ammunition....anything but SMG's and a few others. I always thought this was a good practice. I dont think guns are bad ( i like em alot But what about you, friends? |

You have to have your FOID like Nater said . If you are buying a hand gun you must be over 21 years old and you have to leave the gun at the store for the first 48 hours , its called the cool down period. In case you werte planning on shooting your wife or something and are buying a gun for that reason , the make you wait 48 hours .
Buttttttt , if your smart youll just buy a shotgun or a rifle , the cool down period on a long gun is only 24 hours ha ha hah |

In Kentucky you have to pass a background check! After you pass the background check you pay and get your Gun! Unless for some reason the Gun Sales person decides they don't want to sell you a gun. That usually don't happen but if they suspect its a straw purchase or if they for some reason get a bad feeling from you they can turn you down! But the majority of the time its just passing the test. If your not a convicted Felon or certified nut job they can sale you a gun. Now getting a Concealed carry permit is a bit harder! You don't have to have a permit to own a gun in Kentucky but if you want to carry it concealed you do.
