I liked Michael Jackson so much better when he was black. That man was a performer for sure. I never bought in to the hype of his singing but "thriller and "billie jean" will always be two songs stuck in my head.

I got to see it on Tuesday at a special IMAX screening and I was very impressed with the production they had set up for those concerts. The man was really a perfectionist, and it showed, even up until the very end. I don't wanna give too much away to those who have not seen it, but the new video scenes for Thriller were friggin sweet, and the run through of "They Don't Care About Us" literally gave me goosebumps. While he did look pretty skinny for a 50 year old man, he clearly still "it" when it came to performing.

I still think it's wrong what Sony has done, and will continue to do to MJ. If they are going to try and cash in on the supposed 100 songs MJ left behind in the archives at Epic Records, they NEED to release the songs as singles so that MJ can take his rightful place on top of the Billboard charts once again. They refused to release the "This is It" song as a single for that very reason. They don't want you to really know how bad their record sales suck for all their new and crappy artists, but they still wanna make money off of the king. They even went so far as to hire extra security to personally watch over ANY unreleased MJ material, like it's a matter of national security or something. Hell, even in business reports I read it said that Sony posted significantly lower losses for 2009 than expected, largely because of the boost they received from sales of Michael Jackson music after his death. Anybody who can die with 300 million dollars in debt and still have financial experts call their estate liquid, is clearly a juggernaut in their industry. Sony needs Jackson's name attached to theirs, but they don't want to give the man the credit he deserves. They are vultures.

Since it is Halloween and this an MJ thread I figured I would post this video I found. It is the Thriller video, but redone with LEGOS, it's pretty cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MThEoxSWURA

I managed to get a couple good video clips on my phone, including Billie Jean, but I'm not gonna upload them cuz Sony is hitting people with DMCA claims left and right. There were only a few people in my group who got to view the screening, and nobody was really checking on us, I probably could have bootlegged the whole thing. Anyway, here is picture from the final screen of the movie, good stuff.
