I'm not a fan of it, just like im not a fan of L&P, but with the way the UFC scores their fights you have to give them points for it. Now if you are talking about the PRIDE way of judging, the number one deciding factor is who is trying to finish the fight, then you get no points for Lean & Pray or L&P.

The problem with that is that you have guys like Clay Guida who looks like they Lay and Pray..when in fact the are working to get to a comfortable spot to GnP. Randy's Lean and Prey is normally followed up by a take down or is really working to make his opponent tired.

You put Clay or Randy in a Pride/Dream fight.. and the guy that is scrambling to get out "appears" to be trying to finish a fight.

im not a fan of "lean and prey" im a fan of consistent judging.... if it is gonna be effective grappling for someone it should be for everyone....
