Vitor vs Rich?
Is it fair to put Vitor up against Rich for his first fight back in the Oct?
Even Tanner fought some can on his way back in didn't he? Shouldn't newcomers and return-ers have to make it past a gatekeeper first before they get a shot at top talent?

I hear ya but think of Henderson, he had less experiance in an octagon than most but he had to fight two Champions. i guess he was stuck because he was the Pride Champion so he had no chance of a tune up.
Rampage got a nice tune up with Eastman but mostly it seems in the UFC that you just get thrown in with top level fighters! Its a tough world!

The UFC will spin the fight either way - if Rich wins Rich gets another notch in his belt to work toward the title shot. If Vitor wins Rogan will spin him like he's the next biggest thing to "look out for" at 205. Goldberg will declare him the "biggest comeback of the UFC history". Rogan will say he has "improved a lot in his ju jitsu" while Goldberg will comment on how Rich has "also improved on his ju jitsu".

Yeah I thought that was a little rough for a first fight. Vitor has been looking good lately but he should have fought a mid to low level guy his first one back.

I don't see why anyone would want Vitor to fight a nobody. This is a great test for him right here. A fighter should want to fight the best there is at every possible chance, right?
You don't hear me asking the UFC, "Why don't you give Wanderlei a can after fighting nothing but top names?" do you? If Vitor's as good as his comeback suggests, then what's the problem here? And by the way, even a nobody can beat a top-name fighter anyday. Don't forget what happened when Rua was given Forrest as a low-tier opponent at the time...
